Dancing Cheek to Cheek © 2013, Dean G Wolfe I like to sleep in late I like to stay up later and I rarely answer my phone I’m just a cool creator not a discipline-hater and my muse won’t leave me alone I’m a one-of-a-kind and an unusual find but really I’m not so unique Because we’re -every one- each like a ray of sun and we’re dancing cheek to cheek, cheek to cheek I wanna run outside I wanna go for a ride I wanna sit down down on a beach I want a conversation and a confirmation that I’m filling my spiritual niche I’ve got kids to raise I’ve got bills to pay I’ve got a sweetheart at my side I’ve got books to read and blogs to write and songs going on the fly I’m still here with you You’re still here with me…..

Stretch Away 03:10
Stretch Away (c) 2013, Dean G Wolfe If you want to know ‘bout yourself; read a thousand books on a shelf there’s no telling what you could be; like a seed turn into a tree (whoa whoa...) Branching out’s a good plan to make; not too far though, you’ll start to break Keep it close to what you do best; then you’ll stand out from all the rest (whoa whoa.....) stretch away from the box crack the code, find the key, break the locks you might cry, you may bleed Be a light, be the truth and then you lead It’s a laugh, how small we can feel Tell me who invented the wheel and this universe that we’re in used to fit on top of a pin Fear be gone; It’s contrary to your progress and your glory Hate be gone; It’s not funny Sticks to you like sticky honey Guilt’s the same; It’s a shame like a never ending game So lies be gone; that’s the bomb: Lies are what it’s built upon

Daughters and Sons © Dean G Wolfe, 2013 Do what you’re told Fall into place Try to fit in keep the dirt off your face Don’t ask what the truth is Believe all the lies (x2) We are not cogs inside machines broken dreams, broken dreams We are not pawns in jealous games without names, without names Change is coming Systems failed our daughters and sons Gifts and treasures, Change will come through daughters and sons Don’t live the corporate fantasy worker bee, worker bee Don’t be a ball of plasticine Gelatine figurine Do what you’re told Fall into place Try to fit in keep the dirt off your face Don’t ask what the truth is Believe all the lies They give you that paycheck To buy what you’re sold They treat you like silver you’re made out of gold They give you more homework they steal all your time

Can’t Keep Sunshine On A Shelf (c) 2013, Dean G Wolfe there’s something about the way you smile there’s something about the way you are Maybe I’ve been lost for quite a while One long lonely night without a star If I keep you to myself you’re not there, you’re not there Can’t keep sunshine on a shelf it’s everywhere, everywhere There’s something about the way you love me helps me recognize i need to grow though I've barely won a single trophy Now I radiate the winning glow Left my childish ways behind Its all brand new, all brand new Happiness seemed hard to find but it finds you, it finds you If I keep you to myself you’re not there, you’re not there Can’t keep sunshine on a shelf it’s everywhere, everywhere

I’m going to marry you in the summer © 2013, Dean G Wolfe I’m going to marry you in the summer when the air is warm and sweet I’m going to take your hand in mine and then I’ll sweep you off your feet We’re going to wake up every morning ‘neath a cool and crisp white sheet I’m going to marry you in the summer when the air warm and sweet I’m going to marry you in the summer in the church that’s near my home near the places as a child that I played and I did roam these memories, they echo as they fade into the heat I’m going to marry you in the summer when the air is warm and sweet I love the love you give me I’ll hold your hand so tight I treasure every single moment You're the girl that is my bride/ wife There was something extra special in your eyes when we did meet my heart began to flutter and i found it hard to speak what magic do you radiate? that magic do i seek I’m going to marry you in the summer when the air is warm and sweet chorus verse 1 repeat chrous x2

Home 03:46
Home © 2013 Dean G Wolfe I left things behind when I put my foot forward for life is defined by the brave, not the coward Things weren't the same they in fact got much better for change is the game that rewards the go getter Home is not a place or a time Because home is In your heart and your mind It’s true that I cried once it hit home: I’m going, I staggered unsteady the patient wind blowing Its tough to move on though We made sacrifices I’ve tallied the cost Still don't know what the price is Home is not a place or a time Because home is in your heart and your mind Home is not a line on the sand because home is in the palm of your hand Hold me closer Keep me in your dreams Hold me closer Keep me in your dreams-- dream, dream... So many words lie between us; can’t they be just like a bridge? Chains that were once underneath us have just freed us like the wind, like the wind

Bungee Cord 03:32
Bungee Cord © 2013, Dean G Wolfe Left home, on my own life takes a brand new tone everything gets amplified world’s feeling twice as wide I flew right out of my nest This was real, not a test No more holding hands Started playing in my own band No more safety nets Getting by on my own sweat Things never go as they’re planned when life shifts like the sand I draw my breath in deep Each time I take a leap hopefully I don’t touch the ground Just like a bungee cord I’m stretched and never bored Life sure sends me spinning around Kids having meltdowns TV’s crashing to the ground worried about the cost of things worried about what worry brings and I’m not the worrying kind Can I just hit rewind? Eat fresh, eat canned Having nothing solid planned try to keep the children fed never thinking far ahead Do I have a place in my mind where things go all the time?

Vintage Love 03:51
Vintage Love © 2009 Dean G Wolfe I've got a lot to give but i forgot how to give it. and you deserve it all i've got to show you and live it. I let my love grow old And kept it all bottled inside. at least my love's a good vintage. ................ I've been a dead sea. and my feelings won't flow, no rivers. i'm stuck on intake but my outflow is blocked with slivers of criticism focussing on the things i don't like How did I reach this position? Whoa oh oh Vintage Love’s not the love I should give vintage love's not the love I should live I let my love get old I took it -and you- for granted I see that better now I know that you couldn't stand it As if our flame could burn Forever and ever the same If I don't put my heart in it Whoa oh oh Vintage Love’s not the love I should give vintage love's not he love we should live Fully invested in the time I spend with you Fully appreciating everything you do It all came easy when our love was all brand new At least I've done it all before Solo Its always darkest when the day turns into night Won’t put the brakes on when I'm headed for the light I'll jog my memory our love was at first sight These feelings never go away Fully invested in the time I spend with you Fully appreciating everything you do It was so easy when our love was all brand new At least I've done it all before

Your Dreams Won’t Go Away © 2013, Dean G Wolfe You might tell yourself someday I’m tired of just trying You might tell yourself someday I don’t love what I’m buying You might try to get away There’s no use in hiding There’s no telling what you pay While you’re not deciding Because your dreams won’t go away Don’t let your colours turn to gray Don’t feel like you can’t be yourself Don’t be shy just share yourself There’s a reason why we ache It drives us together And no, you’re lo a big mistake You’ll get it together You know you’ve got to be yourself | because your talent is your health Get your head out of the sand | It is your duty, this demand Find the place that you can grow | just like a river’s got to flow You’ve got to grow up into space | don’t disappear without a trace Because your dreams won’t go away Don’t let your colours turn to gray Don’t feel like you can’t be yourself Don’t be shy just share yourself

Class is Over © 2013, Dean G Wolfe The bell has rung now; we’re crashin’ through those big old doors I feel so alive now; the freedom sinks into my pores Class is over; no more sitting in straight rows The grass is greener when it’s underneath your toes Is there something wrong inside those walls? You know whatever gets propped high - it falls Let’s go play now; do the things we want to do Just follow your heart; and to your heart be really true Because there’s something wrong inside those walls You know whatever gets propped high - it falls Class is over now; Class is over now Class is over now; Class is over now (musical interlude) There’s something, something wrong inside those walls There’s something, something wrong inside those halls Class is over now; Class is over now Class is over now; Class is over now (musical interlude) There’s something, something wrong inside those walls There’s something, something wrong inside those halls Now race down that hall; Life goes on somehow; Now race down that hall; Life goes on somehow; Put your books away; now get out and play Put your books away; now get out and play: play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play...

"This album is the product of a burst of creativity commencing March 2013. I've focussed like never before on becoming a better songwriter. Along the way I've worked on my engineering and mixing skills by taking a course. It took about 6 months to put this all together- based mostly in my bedroom as we live in an apartment in Victoria. Back in Toronto I had my own basement studio but life was so busy I had little to show for it- but I certainly became a better drummer. Now, without home reno responsibilities and kids not in diapers anymore-- and with no more commutes to work-- it seems I can squeeze more music into my life- ahhhh, blessings!" ~D.Wolfe, Oct 2013

Thank-yous:
for the instrument loans: Rus Mott , James Acken
for live performing support: Lauren Knerual, Tony Nordstrom, Ray Mohr
my family- especially Janine for support during the process,
and especially to YOU for supporting indie musicians and artists.
