Aliens are funny things, Aliens are cute I don't think they're killer types, I don't think they're brutes I think they're watching Occasionally crying, Occasionally dying with laughter But I'm sure they're busy, They've got things to do They mind their own business You hold your secret dear, one no one wants to hear Unidentified flying objects! I was so young, impressionable I wasn't even looking hard We saw them soaring high above Too fast to be an airplane Too slow for falling stars maneuvering like there was no gravity Unidentified flying objects I'm not one to question what our young eyes did see I do believe that there's intelligence ...somewhere else among the stars We aren't the centre of the universe how silly to make that claim Whether or not their fashion leans towards green remains to be seen I hear they fancy cobalt blue Unidentified flying objects overide, defy, deny the universal laws of matter There's got to be some life out there as surely as there's life down here..... I keep things to myself, I think it's better I keep things to myself, I think it's wiser

How can I try to put these feelings into words? it's not an easy thing for me to do Images of war within myself There's no beauty til the blood is cleared Patience is my only friend I can only hope I'll get ahead and reach a new plateau for good, never ever to return Slingshots armour, Double edged sword, Thoughts that duel shadows bust me Please try to understand it's never me always wanting what I do not need tempted by a false dream of pleasure where there's only greed It's about lust, it's about crime it's about the unspeakable and at times the inevitable unavoidable Warfiled Central, battles fought here register now, what size... are you... ready? Shadow battling Shadow battling solo Shadow battling Shadow battling There's no resting in this place there are no pillows for your face We all fight here on our own with all the bad seeds that we've sown there's no rescue in this place there are no pillows for your face We are fighting on our own with all the bad seeds that we've grown by Dean Wolfe

about

This album culminates the 1990s for me. After all the home recordings I had been doing on cassette tape, a new (somewhat) affordable digital home recording system reached the consumer market in the form of the Roland VS 1680.

I sold all my old Tascam and Yamaha tape based multitrack recorders and went for broke- investing way too much money in all kinds of new gear. You will notice the difference in sound quality from the first three albums in this Bedroom Tapes series. While it was a logical progression, little would I know then that one day I would long for the old days of analog recording methods.

However the work-flow didn't change all that much, meaning I didn't do much punching in or editing, unlike later when I adopted a DAW (digital audio workstation) such as Pro Tools and my eventual favourite, LOGIC by Apple. The only screen I had to work with back then was the size of a stamp, and button clicking through menus and what not was a tedious affair. Having 16 tracks to work with though, was a welcome luxury.

This 'best of' bandcamp edition album has about half of the original songs that I recorded in the bedroom/basement of our apartment in Roncessvalles, a neighbourhood in Toronto....Oh yeah, that was the big difference from all my earlier tapes: I was a married man now. Back then, I barely dated. Now I was in a full time relationship and my wife was thankfully fully supportive of all my musical efforts.

Our landlord upstairs didn't complain, even though I would be singing away at odd hours of the day, which must have seemed weird to them. In gratitude, I credited their cherry-tomato-eating cat as producer in the original CD album notes.

The original Compact disc is long 'out of print'. I think I had it up on the original MP3.com site which was an amazing site and God-send to independent musicians everywhere but eventually was sold and became absolute garbage. Those were the wild-west days.

A guest vocalist appeared on the song Reality but the back ups she did were not used for some reason. If I ever find the track data I will attempt to re-release it so it sees the light of day.
